Sinks of Gandy, WV : I guess this gallery should be called "The Cave" since we've only caved once at this wonderful place. Gandy Creek runs for one mile under a small mountain in West Virginia, in a rare underground stream formation that is accessible from both ends during low water. Fondly referred to as Sinks of Gandy, this beginner spelunking trip offers a couple of hours of wading, crawling and squeezing in total darkness lit only by headlamps. The sinks are located on private property surrounded by forgotten alps in backcountry West Virginia. A trip through Gandy is best done with a knowledgeable caver who knows the way.
